Exemptions (from mandatory training requirements) may be applied for a 6 month period as follows:
1. Absence from work:
- Long term sick (LTS) staff - service managers should fill in this form to get this registered on LEAP. (please fill in the same form to register return from LTS).
- Maternity leave, career break, secondment - these should have been notified to P&OD (formally HR), from which the change will filter through to LEAP.
2. Health conditions
- Health conditions (assessed by Occupational Health), pregnancy, injuries - can prevent staff taking part in training that includes physical activity
- Trainings with physical activity are currently only Resuscitation (ILS / BLS) and SLTP Level 3 Team Skills. More details of the requirements for SLTP & BLS/ILS here.
- Managers should fill in this form to get this registered on LEAP. (please fill in the same form to register return from LTS).
3. Working from home
- There is no training exemption for staff who are working from home.
Compliance measures
The exemptions allowed above will remove staff from training audiences. The will therefore not be included in training compliance figures.
Notes for Training administrators:
1. Long term sick (LTS) staff - under that user's profile, set (or unset) the "Long Term Sick - exempt until date". The requestor's form should include an end date
2. Health conditions - there are two separate flags under the user's profile (under "Exemptions"). You may have to set any or all of these:
-
- "BLS/ILS Excluded",
- "SLTP Level 3 Team Skills - exempt until date"
