The Appraisal Forms on LEAP are ready to open and use in the first week of April each year. Managers are urged to check their records are correct in LEAP, in advance. (Where manager changes have not been reported or taken effect, this can delay the process of completing your appraisal).
Managers' My Team dashboard – where to check your details in LEAP
The “My Team” dashboard is a one stop shop for managing your team's learning, development and supervision on LEAP. You will see a full list of team members, and of any delegated appraisers for those team members.
Changes / corrections to Managers – 2 ways to request this change
If you do not see the people you manage under My Teams (or if you see the wrong people; or if you do not see My Team dashboard at all), you will need to request your manager-employee relation is corrected in ESR.
- If the change is not a pay-impacting change (i.e. only a change to the current line manager), please fill in this Workforce manager-update request form.
- If the change is a pay-impacting change (i.e. different pay grade) then please fill in the ESR Change Form. (If you have problems accessing that form, there is help and guidance here).
It may up to 2 weeks for these ESR change to take effect in LEAP (Delegating appraisal - see section below - is often used as a quick way to get on with things, instead of waiting for ESR updates).
If you do need to follow up these queries, contact WorkforceInformation@slam.nhs.uk rather than the LEAP admin team.
Delegating Appraisals – managers can make this change themselves directly in LEAP
If you as a manager wish to nominate someone to carry out appraisals on your behalf:
- click the Choose appraiser button (next to your team member’s details on LEAP’s My Team screen – also in screenshot above), and then select the person who will appraise. (You can choose to revert to yourself if needed).
This change will take effect on LEAP within hours.
Managers can do this themselves, but the LEAP admin team can help with this if you get stuck.
