The Seni Lewis Training Programme, launched in January 2023, this is a new training course about improving experiences of and safety in, mental healthcare. It has been developed through a partnership with service users, carers, Black Thrive community members, Trust staff, and the family of Olaseni Lewis, who the course is named after. The course advocates a system wide approach to improving patient safety including reducing the use of forceful or restrictive practices.

How do I book on to the course?
If you work in a clinical role in an inpatient setting, you will be booked on to the course by the Senior Business Manager in your Directorate. Bookings will be made in advance and reflected on your e-roster (or equivalent). If you are unable to attend the training on the date you are allocated you must inform you line manager who will arrange for an alternative booking to be set up.
All other staff will need to access the SLTP e-Learning on LEAP. Please note that in 2023 you will only need to complete the e-learning component of the Level 1 course and can ignore references to the live workshop.
What is it replacing?
The Seni Lewis Training Programme directly replaced PSTS Training in the Trust as a more holistic and integrated programme. PSTS training ceased in January 2023.
