As of February 2025, pharmacists and pharmacist technicians will be included in the Seni Lewis Training Programme 2.5 Day MDT (Multidisciplinary Team) training audience as part of their mandatory training requirements.
This change comes as a result of reviewing the current provision available to our pharmacy staff and aims to support the recognition of early signs of escalation as well as enhance personal safety practices.
Non-patient-facing Pharmacy staff
Pharmacy staff whose role is not patient facing, and so do not work within the MDT, therefore do not need to do this training. Managers can contact the LEAP team to have these staff marked as "not patient facing" on LEAP (available from March 2025).
Thank you for your continued dedication to enhancing care and safety across the Trust.
The change in training level has been agreed by Siobhan Gee, the Deputy Director of Pharmacy and by
Benjamin Nwachukwu (Seni Lewis Training Programme Lead).
SLTP MDT bookings:
Once pharmacy staff have completed the SLTP e-learning (which most will have already completed as prior training for SLTP L1), they will be allocated a booking for the MDT course. Should the scheduled date not be suitable, please reach out to us at SLTPTraining@slam.nhs.uk for assistance with rescheduling.
