Prevent training update (Nov 2023)

As a result of a MAST training audit, there are some changes to Prevent training. These changes have been agreed upon by the Trust’s Mandatory and Statutory Training (MAST) Committee and training leads to align with NHS England’s Core Skills Training Framework. 

The changes from November 2023 are:

1. Prevent Awareness
   • Prevent Awareness e-learning is to be completed the first time, and then become renewable along with Safeguarding Adults Levels 1 and 2.
   • All staff except clinical decision-makers will be required to complete this every 3 years.
   • This e-learning and assessment module meets the statutory and mandatory training requirements for Preventing Radicalisation - Basic Prevent Awareness in the UK Core Skills Training Framework (UK CSTF).
2. Prevent Level 3 (Mental Health) formerly Prevent Workshop (WRAP)
   • Prevent Level 3 e-learning (for mental health staff) is to be completed the first time, then will become renewable along with Safeguarding Children Level 3.
   • All clinical decision-makers will be required to complete this every 3 years.
   • This module meets the statutory and mandatory training requirements for Preventing Radicalisation (Mental Health) - Level 3 in the UK Core Skills Training Framework (UK CSTF).
